Yoda the four eared cat... Evolution or mutation?

Whilst scanning the pages of the Daily Mail, a particular article got me to thinking about the debate of evolution. A cat, known as Yoda, has recently come to light as it has the amazing bonus of having a set of extra ears. Now, most people would say that it is a genetic mutation that is abnormal to the species. But who's to say that 'Yoda' is not the next step in the evolutionary process? Maybe in a hundred years time all cats will be like Yoda. Who's to say?

Maybe the way we look at genetic 'abnormality' should be address as we may be limiting our progression through life...
